“Winner” at the German Design Award 2013.
The German Design Council has acknowledged Weidmüller's Digi Check Pro 2-pole voltage tester for its intelligent product design and excellent functionality.
The importance of design for industrial goods is reflected by the fact that the German Design Award has a separate “Industrial Goods” category. Weidmüller received the much coveted prize for its Digi Check Pro voltage tester. The independent jury of experts selected a total of 90 award winning products from more than 1,500 nominated products. The prize is awarded by the “German Design Council”, a foundation established by design experts from around the world, to promote good design. The jury was particularly impressed by the way in which the Digi Check Pro test instrument uniquely combined functionality and design: “The two-pole voltage tester incorporates intelligent product design and test functions that meet the required standards. Due to the large measurement range of 5 to 690 V, the device can be used universally,” the jury said approvingly. One aspect particularly worthy of mention is the patented engagement system of the test probes, which allows fast and reliable testing with only one hand. “Based on our customers' requirements, we develop tools that are both functional and ergonomic. We then combine this hands-on orientation with innovative design. We are very proud that the design experts also recognise our achievement,” according to a pleased Dr. Christian Zimmermann, Head of the Tools Business Unit at Weidmüller. Although the jury of experts has completed its work, we remain excited, as you can now have your say with the audience award! Are you convinced by the Digi Check Pro's excellent combination of functionality and design? Then give us your vote for the Public’s Choice Award by 30 November 2012.
